No one has ever understood disappointment who has not looked up "bottomry" in a dictionary.

I believe bottomry is also known as "bummery". Which knowledge can, of course, only serve to deepen one's disappointment on learning its true meaning.

It's better than dictionary.com's spanish word of the day, which was motivo (motive). Last week the word was verde (green).
So disappointing.
